About the course

This training course is targeted for teachers who want to teach their students Internet security, privacy and safety matters. This course is based on a 12-lesson learning module designed to present the concepts in a motivating way to students in secondary / middle school. The recommended age of students is about 13-16 years, but the content will suit more senior students as well. Participating on this training course will enable you to teach the learning module.

The learning module focuses on learning about Internet from the social aspect. Students form opinions on how they feel about the internet, discuss the impact of social media and learn how to stay safe in shared digital spaces. Learning happens through reading, discussion, practising and finding and presenting information. 

From you as a teacher, no special knowledge of computer science, information technology nor Internet is expected.

About the learning module

This course equips you to teach a 12-lesson learning module about Internet and related security and privacy matters. Students form opinions on how they feel about the internet, discuss the impact of social media and learn how to stay safe in shared digital spaces. Learning happens through reading, discussion, practising and finding and presenting information.

The downloadable student book introduces key concepts in a structured way. Let's read sections provide a short introduction in the topic. Practice sections make students explore the concepts through hands-on work, discussion and collaboration.
